Collaborations
Together with national and regional partners, we are working to build up knowledge and skills for climate transitions throughout the Netherlands. In our KIN Pact community, individual accelerators come together. Within the Pact they build their own transition networks around specific themes. Are you a researcher, entrepreneur, policy officer or do you work for a civil society organisation? Join us!
Collaborations with regional and national partners
-
Klimaatcentra & KIN Hubs
The KIN is the driving force behind a national consultation between (university) climate centres, aimed at achieving greater coordination and alignment and strengthening cooperation between research institutions.
-
Pact community
The KIN Pact offers researchers and climate professionals from the worlds of policy and practice a forum in which to collaborate on their climate or transition issues.
-
NECTR
The National Centre of Expertise for Transdisciplinary Working (NECTR) is a network that regards transdisciplinary (TD) working as an essential methodology for identifying and tackling complex societal problems.
-
IPCC
The KIN supports the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) by providing advice and, in particular, by linking the IPCC’s scientific reports to the practical realities faced by policymakers.
-
Knowledge Agenda Bonaire
Together with its project partners, KIN is working on input for a knowledge chapter in Bonaire’s climate plan. This chapter is intended to provide guidance for future knowledge and research activities in the field of climate adaptation and mitigation.
-
Adaptation Pathways for the National Climate Adaptation Strategy (NAS’26)
In collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW), the KIN organised a series of ‘Make-atons’ in 2024 and 2025 for the new government-wide National Climate Adaptation Strategy (NAS). This resulted in 15 adaptation pathways and an advisory report.
-
The Social Impact Analysis: An innovative methodology for climate policymakers
The Social Impact Analysis sets out the social consequences of the National Climate Adaptation Strategy (NAS’26), so that policy-makers can take these into account when developing their policies.
-
New Ways of Funding: understanding bottlenecks and barriers within the current system
Through a call for ‘impossible projects’, the We Are Foundation and KIN set out to gain a better understanding of the barriers and bottlenecks in the current funding system for scientific and practical research in the field of climate (transition).
